LaunchTab Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 30, 2026

LaunchTab has no server, makes no network requests, and collects nothing. Your countdowns and images stay in your own browser. Nothing about you ever reaches us — there is no "us" to reach.

What LaunchTab is

LaunchTab replaces your Chrome new tab with a countdown to an event you choose: a game release, a movie, a wedding, a trip, a product launch. You create the events; the extension displays them.

Data we collect

None. There is no account, no sign-up, no email field, no telemetry, no analytics and no advertising. The extension has no code that sends data anywhere, because it has nowhere to send it to.

LaunchTab makes zero network requests. It ships with its own fonts, styles and artwork, and never contacts an external server — not ours, not anyone's. You can verify this yourself: open Chrome DevTools on a new tab and watch the Network panel stay empty.

What you create, and where it lives

Everything you type into LaunchTab is stored by Chrome on your own machine, through the browser's extension storage:

WhatWhereWhy there
Event names, subtitles, dates, chosen theme chrome.storage.sync So your countdowns follow you to your other computers where you are signed into Chrome
Background images you add chrome.storage.local Stays on this device only. Images are far too large for sync storage

One honest detail worth spelling out: chrome.storage.sync is Chrome's own sync feature. If you are signed into Chrome with sync enabled, Google carries that small amount of text between your devices, under Google's privacy policy — the same way your bookmarks travel. That is a Chrome feature, not a LaunchTab server. We never see it. If you prefer nothing to leave the machine at all, turn off Chrome sync in your browser settings and LaunchTab keeps working normally.

Your background images never leave your device. They are resized inside your browser and written to local storage. They are not uploaded, not backed up by us, and not synced.

Permissions we ask for

LaunchTab requests exactly one permission:

It asks for no access to your browsing history, your open tabs, the sites you visit, your bookmarks, your location, your camera or your microphone. Chrome lists an extension's full permissions on its store page and at chrome://extensions, so you can check this claim rather than take our word for it.

Cookies and tracking

None. LaunchTab sets no cookies, uses no tracking pixels, contains no third-party scripts and shows no ads.

Sharing data with third parties

We share nothing, because we hold nothing. We do not sell, rent, transfer or disclose user data — there is no user data on our side to sell. LaunchTab is not used for, and contains no code for, creditworthiness or lending decisions, and no data is transferred for any purpose unrelated to the extension's single purpose.

Deleting your data

Two ways, both entirely under your control:

There is no "request my data" form, because there is nothing for us to look up.

Your rights (GDPR, CCPA, LGPD)

These laws give you the right to access, correct, delete and port your personal data, and to withdraw consent. LaunchTab processes no personal data on any server we control, so those rights are satisfied directly: your data is already only in your hands, and uninstalling deletes it.

Children

LaunchTab is not directed at children and knowingly collects no data from anyone, of any age.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of LaunchTab ever handles data differently, this page changes before that version ships, and the date at the top changes with it.
